Hey Maple Leafers – this year’s National Night Out is just around the corner on August 3. For those who haven’t participated in the past, “Night Out” is a national crime prevention event designed to heighten crime prevention awareness, increase neighborhood support in anti-crime efforts, and unite our communities. They always say that neighbors who know your name are more likely to help you out if they see someone suspicious around your house, or see you are in trouble. “Night Out” brings neighbors together to build a stronger community that will work together to prevent crime.
Last year, almost 1,200 people signed up across the city. According to the City of Seattle’s website, there are a couple of exciting changes to Seattle’s Night Out. For one, the registration process is now easier: using the City Wide Events Calendar, you can save the event date into your own personal calendar, make changes later, as well as forward the event to your friends. Seattle Night Out is also on Facebook.
Anyone from Maple Leaf planning a get together — or know of others in the area that are?
